Challenge #13 ~ Anger Management

It is time for some anger management. Have you ever been frustrated and just wanted to throw something or rip something apart?? Well now is your chance.


Here is a layout I did for weScrap using the Lyrics of the Heart kit. Love this kit. It is so versatile. I took out my frustrations and relieved my stress by tearing some paper and crumpling some as well. I took the song lyric paper and crushed it into a ball. I then opened it up and did it again. What fun!! :)

Found Objects ~ Challenge #10

One of the things I love doing is picking apart the girls treasures once they are done with them. I love taking the lace off of Barbie clothes, the beads off of pretty necklaces, the ribbons off of old teddy bears and the charms from braclets and such. There is a treasure trove of embellies around your home just begging to be used in almost every room. All you have to do is put on your Sherlock Holmes hat and do some sleuthing.

The butterfly I used on the following layout literally fell at my feet. I took the girls out to see where Steve was working in Stratford. There was a swan that was laying eggs and the town sectioned off a portion of the park, right under the bridge Steve was working on. We to take a peek at the nest she had built with the caution tape from the construction site. :)

I thought that since it was a beautiful day, that we would take some pictures. Paige was so tired and really didn't want her photo taken. I got this fun one of her pouting and I just had to scrap it. I used the April kit from Mon Ame Memories. I had so much fun with this one. I sanded the edges of the Core-dinations cardstock to get a fun, distressed look.






Do you notice the butterfly embellishment?? It is the same one that is in the photo of Paige, on her headband. When we headed home, she fell asleep. I had to wake her up when we got home. I opened the door and when she lifted her head, her pretty headband broke and the butterfly fell on the ground, at my feet!! I asked her if I could keep it and I used it on this layout.

Challenge #9 ~ Color Combo

I realized that I haven't posted a color combo challege in awhile now. I really like doing these because it pushes me out of my usual comfort zone.

I had asked my daughter Emmy a little while ago to pick two colors for me to scrap. She had picked Blue and Yellow. Normally, I would freak out at having to scrap the color yellow BUT I had these great papers in my weScrap Lyrics of the Heart kit that I just knew would work perfectly!!

Here is the layout I created of my daughter Paige:

I am a font-a-holic!! I can admit it. I love fonts!! All types of fonts. I am contantly looking through the web for new, fresh and funky fonts. I thought I would share my addiction with you gals.

I love a good font and these are fontastic! It is fresh, cool and funky! It has a cool Bewitched look to it. Loved that show!

Challenge #7 ~ Fussy Cutting

One of things that I am slowly getting the hang of is Fussy Cutting. This simply means grabbing your scissors or exacto knife and cutting out some designs from your patterned paper.

Here is a sample I did recently for Art Freckles when I was their GDT. It features my daughter Emmy and her love of music. She now has an iPod. I promised her that if she could take good care of an MP3 player that I would invest in an iPod for her.

Challenge #5 ~ No Cardstock

I am excited to keep all these challenges coming!

One of things I find I am using less of in my layouts is cardstock. I have discovered the joys of printing my photos with borders and using those instead of wasting my white cardstock to mat my photos.

There are also so many cute die cut journal spots and journaling stamps that I seem to be using these instead of cardstock as well.

Here is a layout I did for the Creative Scrappers Birthday Celebration. It features my lovely Paige and shows how I hope she will forever stay young. I used the kit that I received from Art Freckles when I was the GDT!




Challenge:
Create a layout or two cards without using any cardstock. Nice and easy..... except if you always use cardstock. :)

Time to Celebrate

It's time to celebrate!! I can't believe that in 6 months I have had over 10, 000 hits on my blog!!

You girls are all amazing and have helped me make this blog a fun and inspiring place to be. I love getting your layouts in my inbox and reading your comments. You inspire me and I hope that I inspire you as well.

To celebrate this occasion I have planned some fun this month. I will have more challenges for you. I intend of posting them every day!! I have some guests who will post a challenge as well. The last week we will hop along to a few friends blogs as well and they will have some challenges posted for you. When we do the Blog Hop you will earn one ballot for visiting and posting a comment and two more ballots for doing the challenge that they have posted.

My Sketchworld Blog ~ Challenge #3

Most of you know already that my friend Lucy has her own sketch site and I use her sketches quite often. Did you know that she has asked me to be her Blog Coordinator???

Yes.... I am so pumped to be helping her out. Her sketches are amazing and her forum site rocks!! Make sure to head on over and check it out. She is such a sweetheart and her design team is so diverse. I love that!

Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful mothers out there.

I have been blessed with three lovely, wonderful girls to love. I cherish them each and every day. I suffered alot of miscarriages and thought I would never be a Mom. Lo and behold, I beat the odds and I had two pregnancies make it to term. I truly believe that I was put on this earth to be a Mom. To teach my children to love and be loved.

CCAS Creative Chicks & Challenge #1

Some of you may not know that my friend Ally and I run the CCAS blog. It is a great resource of information.

Have you ever wanted to be a Creative Chick and share your creativity with others? Now here’s your chance to apply for a guest position on the CCAS blog.

How to Apply:

1. You must put a link on your blog to the CCAS blog and showcase the site in some way to help advertise all the cool things here.

April Blog Winner

WOW.... I have been so busy doing ballots. I had to write out 126 ballots and cut them out. Then I tried to cram them in a basket and coaxed DD outside to pick the winner. I actually had to bribe her because her favorite show was on. Notice the fake "hurry up" smile?

Here is DD putting the ballots in a Build a Bear paper bag so she could shake it up well. She wanted to make it as fair as possible.

National Scrapbooking Update ~ Final Challenge

I hope everyone had a great weekend scrapping and celebrating National Scrapbooking Day!! I was busy with two online crops and they were both awesome. I love being on a DT and running crops.
