This weekend signifies the end of summer to me. The air has a crispness to it, the nights end earlier and we pull out the warm, cozy sweaters and blankets. We were blessed to have amazing weather this weekend to celebrate the Canadian Thanksgiving. We spent most of the days this weekend outdoors as a family.
I asked everyone what they were most Thankful for last night.
Paige: "I am Thankful for the warm, cozy sun and my comfy bed to sleep in. I am also Thankful for my whole family that I love."
Emmy: "I am most Thankful for being able to spend time with my family and friends. I also love that I get to ride ponies and for my dogs, Storm and Tess."
DD: "I am Thankful for my warm bed, good food on my table, my family, being able to go to the barn and ride and most of all that my Poppi is still with us after beating cancer."
Steve: " I am most Thankful for the girls in my life. They are the reason I get up every morning."
Me: " I am Thankful for my three girls who bring me so much joy. My husband whose arms hold me tight at night. My loving family. My great friends and a glass of wine."
It is so hard to just chose one thing to be Thankful for these days. I have so many blessings in my life right now. Great friends, good health and a loving family is all I really need.

ReplyDeleteI was just thinking about this last night, actually. I am thankful that (even though it's been badly treated by me, lol) I have a strong body that has given me three wonderful crazy children. I am thankful for my husband, and the support he gives me, and all the help as I've gone back to school this fall. My mom for helping me achieve my goals and watching my kids while I'm in class, and being so fun. I'm thankful for so much, it would take a book here! :)

ReplyDeleteSo much to be thankful for ... when I asked my 6 year old what she was thankful for as we ate our yummy thanksgiving turkey dinner she thought about it a while. And then she said - I don't know mommy - but I like that you are my mommy! That made me smile. I am thankful for a healthy, happy daughter, a loving husband and family, and a great group of friends! We were happy that our friends have moved to Texas and that we could drive to have "Canadian" Thanksgiving here in Texas!
ReplyDeleteHope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Amy :)
I loved your list of what you're thankful for ...
ReplyDeleteI too am thankful that I have a husband holding me in his arms at night, a son who has blossomed into an adult upon entering college but still remembers and wants his mom in his daily life, a son who had terrible problems as a hs freshman but has improved dramatically at the start of this school year, and a son who we almost lost at birth and is now an awesome 4th grader.
I'm also thankful that I have good memories of my mother to carry me through her time in hospice.
And, I'm always thankful when I can find time in this busy life to scrapbook!
That picture of the girls and your dh is absolutely wonderful!! Can't wait to see that scrapped. I am also totally in love with their skirts!!! Very cute. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat am I thankful for? So many things - my kids and dh....their health and happiness. I'm thankful for my neice who had a good delivery today and is now the Mama of a beautiful baby girl. I'm thankful for photography and scrapbooking and all the wonderful people I've met through both.
Oh....and I'm thankful for chocolate. ;) LOL
Your girls are growing into beautiful young ladies! I am thankful for so many things in my life it is hard to pick just one....so...I am thankful for my husband that loves me unconditionally, and our boys that make me smile and inspire me to improve myself, for my parents that are always there for me, for my siblings that give me people to look up to in this crazy world, for my friends that are always there for me, for my scrapbooking hobby that helps me record how thankful I am for everyone!

ReplyDeleteI have to say the list is endless, I have a very Blessed life, But when I asked my 7 yr old GS Jackson what he's thankful for he looked at me with such a loving look and said "I am so thankful for the best Gram (that's me)"
ReplyDeleteThat took the cake!
I'm thankful for my wonderful husband, and the two little ones my dad and stepmom adopted! :)
ReplyDeleteI am so very thankful for my family. Without them what would be the point? They offer unconditional love, are tonnes of fun to hang with and continue to support my decisions (even if they don't agree).
ReplyDeleteOn a much lighter note, I'm thankful for Canada Post who delivers the most wonderful packages of scrapping supplies. What would I do without them?
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
I am thankful that this pregnancy has gone fairly well so far and that we are finally getting to start a family.
ReplyDeleteI love this post since this is something I try and remember to do daily - be thankful! I have so many things to be thankful for, but lately, it's been that I'm able to stay at home with my boys and take care of my niece as well. It's so much fun to watch them grow and change...
