Challenge #3 ~ Altered Background

Sometimes you get a sheet of paper and you are just not sure what the heck to do with it. The color may be a little off, a little too bright or a little too busy. What do you do? Well, you don't throw it out, you change it!!

I had a sheet of paper that I loved the design of but, the color was wrong for my photos and the layout I had envisioned in my mind. So, I set out to alter it. I grabbed some amazing metallic gold paint by Pebeo that I got at Macpherson Arts and Crafts her in St Marys. I dabbed some on a foam brush and my green paper ended up taking on a completely new look. It now had a lovely gold tone to it. Such a beautiful golden shimmer. I loved working with this paint because it is so smooth to work with and dries quickly. This is a big thing for me as I am a time crunched scrapper and not a very patient one either!!

After I stepped back and looked at it, I decided it needed something more. I grabbed the wonderful Bo Bunny Delilah stamp set that came with the October kit at weScrap and randomly stamped flower images in green ink. I am thrilled with the finished product! Here is Paige encased in gold shimmer and flowers:

The only drawback is that it is hard to take a good photo of a layout with metallic paint. lol
All products on this layout are from the weScrap Kit except for the metallic paint which can be purchased at Macpherson's Arts and Crafts online.
Challenge: I would like to see you alter a piece of patterned paper. You can ink it, sand it, stamp it or paint it. Just make it different some way. Then email it to me at thynner5@yahoo.ca to earn a ballot for the wonderful Sizzix prize!
Due: November 30th
Happy Scrapping!
