Challenge # 7 ~ Sew What

One of Emmy's very favorite songs right now is by Pink called "So What?" I hear her sing it at least 10 times a day. Thanks goodness she can carry a tune or else it would be driving me nuts.

When I was thinking of today's challenge she asked me to base it on her favorite song. We came up with the Sew What Challenge!!

Challenge #7:

I would like to see you sew on your layout. You can do this by either using a machine, rub-ons or poking holes and sewing by hand. You must also use the color Pink on your layout as well. Get it?? Pink??

Here is my layout of Paige called Authentic Beauty. I used a stitching template and sewed by hand.

Challenge #4

I just did the following layout for a Scrapdango Layout Tag Game. I just love playing layout tag!! I used some amazing Fancy Pants Arctic Chill Paper and some Glitter paper as well. Love it together.

I had this amazing photo that my friend Lori Anne Franklin took earlier in the fall. She took us out for a Photo Shoot at a barn. Mistake!! The girls were more interested in barn cats and saddles than having their picture taken. BUT... she did manage to get some amazing photos in spite of the distractions.

Challenge #4

The page has the following quote: "You don't choose your family. They are God's gift to you, as you are to them." ~ Desmond Tutu

My challenge is for you to do a layout showcasing your family.
Bonus: Use the above quote to earn a second ballot!!

Email your creation to me at thynner5@yahoo.ca to earn a ballot... or two for this months Big Blog Prize!!

Challenge #7 ~ Love

I love a good word challenge. Ally and I post a word every Wednesday on the CCAS Blog as a challenge. It is so much fun to do and to use on a layout.

My word for this challenge is: Love

1 : strong affection for another arising out of kinship or personal ties
2: affection based on admiration, benevolence, or common interests
3: an assurance of love
4: warm attachment, enthusiasm, or devotion
3 a: the object of attachment, devotion, or admiration

I used this word on a layout of Paige and her love of Webkinz. I'll post it in the morning. I am afraid the lighting isn't great for taking a picture right now. :)

My challenge is for you to use this word on your next layout or card. Please email it to me at: thynner5@yahoo.ca to earn your ballot for my $50.00 Blog Prize Draw.

**Deadline for challenges is December 1st**

Challenge #6

I apologize for not getting this posted last night. My girls and I have all been suffering the last dew days with what Paige affectionately calls "The Curse of the Green Poo". Ah... children come up with the weirdest things!?

I have an easy one for you to do. Everyone loves a good scraplift challenge. At least I hope so. :)

The following layout is one I created for The Scrapping Bug using Basic Grey Mellow Line. I adore the colors so much. They happen to be the easiest papers I have ever worked with. Once again the darling subject is my sweet Paige.

Quote Reads: "My heart is forever at your service". ~ Shakespeare

My challenge is for you to create your own version of my layout. Find something in it to inspire you to make it your own. The beauty in scraplifting is that you can take one, two, three or more elements and incorporate it into your creation.

***All the challenges this week are due in my inbox( thynner5@yahoo.ca) or on the blog November 3rd!! I have extended the dates so everyone has more time to create and send their layouts or cards to me. I will announce the winner on the 4th. *** Remember you are playing for a RAK valued at over $50.00. All new CHA goodies.

I will be posting a bunch of mini challenges tonight. Keep an eye out for them.

Happy Scrapping!

Challenge #3

All my scrappy friends know by now how much I love quotes. I am a bit of a quote fanatic. I believe they are a great addition to a layout and a great way to cheat when it comes to journaling. Yep... I like to cheat. I am not embarrassed by it at all.

Another favorite of mine is to use song titles and lyrics. I'll be at work and hear a song and jot down lines from it or titles. I usually come home with yellow post it notes in my pocket or purse. There are so many inspiring songs out there.

Here is a layout I did based on a song called Let Go Now by Crystal Shawanda:

Journaling reads: "Daddy left you in the truck with the radio running when he slipped into the bank. When he returned you were both sobbing. He was really concerned with all the tears. He thought something terrible had happened in the few minutes he was gone.He asked you both why you were so upset. You told him you heard a song on the radio about a little girl who tells her Daddy that he “can let go now Daddy, you can Let go. I’m old enough to face this world alone”.It was a story of a girl not needing her Daddy anymore. You both then looked up at him and said, “Daddy we never want you to let go!! We will never leave you”. You both made your Daddys heart swell with love. You should know that Daddy never wants you to let go either!"

You can find some great song lyrics here: Lyrics

One of my favorite places to find quotes is here: Quotations Page

So.... my challenge for you is to search for a special quote or song and use it on a layout or card. Everyone who does will earn a ballot for my big draw!! Please email your creation to: thynner5@yahoo.ca and put "Thynner Blog Challenge 3" in the subject line. It makes it easier for me to filter through my emails. You can also provide a link in the comments section.

**All the challenges this week are due in my inbox or on the blog November 1st!!

Challenge #2

I have really been enjoying reading about everyone's fears. Thanks so much for sharing them with me and for the lovely layouts. I have added them into the October slideshow and I hope you'll take a moment to see all the wonderful work submitted so far.

Are you ready for another challenge?? This time around I am asking you to do an Ad Challenge. I found the following Ad in a Canadian Living Magazine:

I would like you to use it as inspiration for a layout or card. You can use the colors, chose the title, use the quote or the design. Maybe you even want to use all these elements??

Here is a layout I did based on this ad. I used both the title and the quote. Here is my lovely daughter, DD. (Yep.. that's her name. At least her nickname.)

Just remember that I'll be posting challenges all week long. Each challenge you complete earns you a ballot for the big RAK draw. you can email your creations to: thynner5@yahoo.ca and please put "Thynner Blog Challenge" in the subject line. You can also provide a link on the blog.

**All the challenges this week are due in my inbox or on the blog November 1st!!
