Sponsor Spotlight #4 ~ The Scrapping Bug & Challenge

When CCAS closed it's forum and it's store I was so sad that I would no longer be on a design team. Then the opportunity to design for the Scrapping Bug came about. I was lucky to design for them for two terms and teach in the amazing store.

Kim has offered up a prize for my blog readers. I went to the store for a class with Vicki Boutin and picked it out. I don't usually take classes that much anymore as I rather love teaching BUT.. when Vicki is in town I just have to be there.

Did you know that The Scrapping Bug has been around for 7 years now?? Wow... how great is that? Here is what Kim says on the website:

"A special thank you to all of our valued customers, friends and suppliers who have made it possible to celebrate seven great years of operation at The Scrapping Bug. It has been a whirlwind and highly successful seven years. It is also an honour to know that we are Ontario’s longest reigning retail scrapbook store. Happy Scrapbooking."

Thanks Kim for helping me out and sponsoring a prize! You're the best!

Challenge:
Hop on over to The Bug and introduce yourself here: Big Bug Hug. Don't forget to tell them that Tara sent you. - 1 ballot
Email me the list of the current Design team members at thynner5@yahoo.ca. - 1 ballot

A Happy Girl

I have some fun news to share with everyone. I received word today that I have been selected as DT Assistant Coordinator for Mon Ame Memories!! It is a sweet and charming site out of California. It has a great family atmosphere and I am really excited for this opportunity. I have an amazingly talented bunch of girls to work with. I am really pumped for this opportunity.

I have to admit that I was so depressed today because my term at The Scrapping Bug was done as my term with Lucy at My Sketchworld Blog. I woke up feeling a little empty today and I am going to bed overjoyed!! I sure am a Lucky Girl!!

Hop on over to Mon Ame and visit me there. Don't forget to let them know that Tara sent you.

Look out for the winner to be drawn tomorrow!!

Chipboard Wall Hanging Tutorial & Challenge #1

Welcome to my Chipboard Wall Hanging Tutorial.

You’ll need to gather up the following supplies:

Chipboard
3 Patterned Papers (I used Bella Blvd-Scrapdango Sugar Kit)
Cutting System
Coordinating cardstock
crop-a-dile or hole punch setter
Eyelets
Embellishments
Ribbon

1. Cut the chipboard into 3 squares measuring 6X6 inches. Cut the coordinating cardstock the same.

2. Adhere the cardstock to the chipboard and ink and/or sand the edges.

3. Measure in 1 ½ inches in from the edges of two of the squares and ½ from the top or bottom edge. Mark it with a pencil and poke your holes. Add your eyelets.

4. Cut out the patterned paper and adhere them onto your squares.
5. Cut four 4 inch strips of ribbon and pull through the eyelets. Adjust the length to your liking and adhere or knot the ribbon on the back.

6. Cut a 6 inch ribbon for the very top holes. Pull through and either adhere or knot this as well.

7. Now your Chipboard Wall Hanging is ready to embellish. You can add your photos now or wait for the right ones. Hope you enjoy making these as much as I do!

Challenge #6

I apologize for not getting this posted last night. My girls and I have all been suffering the last dew days with what Paige affectionately calls "The Curse of the Green Poo". Ah... children come up with the weirdest things!?

I have an easy one for you to do. Everyone loves a good scraplift challenge. At least I hope so. :)

The following layout is one I created for The Scrapping Bug using Basic Grey Mellow Line. I adore the colors so much. They happen to be the easiest papers I have ever worked with. Once again the darling subject is my sweet Paige.

Quote Reads: "My heart is forever at your service". ~ Shakespeare

My challenge is for you to create your own version of my layout. Find something in it to inspire you to make it your own. The beauty in scraplifting is that you can take one, two, three or more elements and incorporate it into your creation.

***All the challenges this week are due in my inbox( thynner5@yahoo.ca) or on the blog November 3rd!! Challenge #4

I am so impressed with all the layouts you have been sending to me. You gals are rocking these challenges. It really makes me feel good to know you are having as much fun with this as I am. I am meeting new people and loving it.

However, I don't really know everyone. Just names and layouts. So..... todays challenge is meant for me to get to know you better. I would like to see a layout with a photo of you on and a list of "5 Things" that we don't know about you.

Here is my layout I did ecently for The Scrapping Bug. I handstiched around the large circle and I loved how it turned out. This is the first page I did that had my photo on it and a little something about me:

Journaling Reads: " 5 Things

1. I feel blessed each and every day to have my family.

2. I used to eat peanut butter and mayonaise sandwhiches.

3. I watched Jaws when I was little and now I'm afraid of sharks.

4. I love to sit on my front porch and watch thunderstorms.

5. I'm highly allergic to dogs but wouldn't give mine up. "

***All the challenges this week are due in my inbox( thynner5@yahoo.ca) or on the blog November 3rd!! I have extended the dates so everyone has more time to create and send their layouts or cards to me. I will announce the winner on the 4th. ***

The Scrapping Bug DT Reveal

I have fallen behind in almost everything since having to deal with my wisdom teeth. I have turned into a wimp lately and seem to not be able to tolerate pain. This is quite surprising considering I gave birth to twins and an 11 pound baby... without a c- section !!!

I was late posting my DT creations for The Scrapping Bug. They are so very sweet to me and I enjoy my time there. I received the amazing Imaginese Hallowhimsy Collection to play with. It is such a lovely, flocked paper line. I love the versatility of the collection.
Here are a couple of my layouts. The first one is of my girls and thier Halloween with Janna. She has turned into such a sweet, lovely girl and I adore her. I used to babysit her when she was my girls age. Last year she took the girls out Trick-or-Treating before moving to Columbia to teach.

The second layout shows how versatile the papers can be. I used the papers on a non Halloween layout. Here are girls:

Please check out the other amazing creations at The Scrapping Bug Gallery. I will post some more creations in the gallery tomorrow. The rest of the DT have some fab creations in the gallery already. I am in great company there!!
