Challenge #7 ~ Congrats
I received some truly exciting and amazing news the other week and I have been dying to share it with you. My BFF from all the way back to Grade 5 is...................... expecting!! Yep, my friend Barb who surprised me by actually getting married last year, surprised me yet again by announcing she was pregnant again!!

This is a girl who swore she would never get married and never have anymore children. One was enough for her. Yeah right!!!! I knew that when she met the right guy that she would change her mind. Well, she did meet the right guy and she is so happy right now.
Her daughter, Ashley is a beautiful teenager and will probably be a great help to her. She will be lucky to have her around.
Here is a photo of my friend Barb and I that was taken after the twins came home from the hospital. If she can handle a day spent with me and a set of twins, then she is all set. It was natural. That mothering instinct just comes naturally and never goes away. She will be a great Mom.... again! Congrats Barb!! Having another baby when you're almost 40!! Love ya for it!!
Challenge: In honour of my friends pregnancy I would like to see you make a Congrats card. A nice and simple challenge. You can email it to me at thynner5@yahoo.ca or post a link below.
You will earn a ballot foe this months blog prize..... a collection of My Little Yellow Bicycle papers, transparencies, rubons, cardstock and a cool tabbed album!!
Due Date: July 31st
Draw Date: August 1st

Challenge #8 ~ Spring it On
I loved being able to feel the sun on my face this week and walk around with a light sweater. I was able to wear my running shoes outside and not have to lug on my boots and my heavy coat. I am more than ready for spring now.
I had just received my kit from Scrapdango and when I opened it I immediately thought how the colors reminded me of Spring. Here is the first layout I did. It features Paige. This photo was taken a couples summers ago. I was on the phone for a while with a friend long distance. I was sitting on the patio. I could hear the girls laughing and giggling in the house. I glanced up when they came out of the house. Paige was all dressed up in a princess gown and a pretty flower necklace. She had let her sisters put on some make-up and nail polish on her. She was so thrilled and happy. I grabbed my camera and took this great shot of her.

Challenge #8:
I would like to see some spring colors on your next card or layout. Show me the some pretty greens, pinks, purples and/or yellows. It about time we broke out those lovely colors that remind us of green grass and pretty flowers.
Email your creation at thynner5@yahoo.ca to earn a ballot for this month's awesome prize. A complete kit from Scrapshotz featuring the brand new Chatterbox release. It is such a pretty and fantastic prize to win!
Due Date: March 31st
Draw Date: April 1st

Challenge #4 ~ The Three B's
I have decided that I am officially sick and tired of the weather!! It has literally rained for almost five days. It is so grey and dismal. It has been hard to get out of bed in the morning since the clocks sprang forward because it is still dark out at that time. Then.... because of the rain, it stays dark.
I want things to brighten up. I want to see the colors of spring. I want to smell the flowers as they bloom and grow. I want to see the happy smilie faces on my children's pretty faces. That's not too much to ask for..... right??
In the meantime, I can scrap. That always puts a smile on my face. I can use bright colors, bold prints and big flowers. Here is one of my very favorite layouts of Paige that using the three b's:
Challenge:
Use the three B's to make your next creation. make something bright, bold and have something big on it. Then email me at thynner5@yahoo.ca your creation to earn a ballot for the monthly draw. I have a stunning array of goodies in store for you!

Challenge #2 ~ Recipe
It's time to cook up a layout. I love recipe challenges. I love making them just as much as I do putting one together.

I made the following layout for a Scrap Me Up Challenge at Scrapdango. The DT were asked to create a layout for a member using their favorite pictures. I got sooooo lucky and received some darling pictures from Lisa Watson (pictures2pages). They are of her sweet son, Cameron and some dirt!!!

Quote reads: "In the spring, at the end of the day, you should smell like dirt." ~ Margaret Atwood.

Challenge #10 ~ Time It
I just finished a fun and exhilarating 1 Hour Layout contest at Creative Scrappers. I have never timed a layout before and had to create in such a short time. Steve had to work and wasn't going to be home until late. That meant that not only was I having to work with a time limit but I also had three girls to get ready for bed. It was stressful but thrilling at the same time. I thought I would hate the layout when it was done because I like to take my time and use inks, paint and distress my layouts. I like to bulk them up and add layers. I knew I wouldn't have time for any of that and I thought I wouldn't be happy. But... I actually Am Happy!!

Here is the final layout. I did manage to get it done in time but I couldn't get it loaded in time. My girls came first. Paige is still not feeling well and needed her Mommy to tuck her in. I still love doing that.
This is DD.... my little Drama Queen. It may be hard to envision her that way by looking at this lovely photo but, she has her moments. I hate to admit that it is one of the many things I love about her.

Challenge:
I would like you to grab your watch or a timer and create a layout in 1 hour!!! It may be tempting to go over your time limit but it is much more fun to push yourself to create in 1 hour. It is such a rush!!
When you are done, email it to me at thynner5@yahoo.ca to earn a ballot for the monthly prize draw. The wonderful Basic Grey Marakech line is up for grabs!!
Due Date: February 28th
Draw Date: March 1st

Challenge #8 ~ The Cluster
One of the things I have been doing lately is making embellishment clusters. That simply means that I love to layer my embellishments together. I love the added dimension and interest this can add to a page.
I did this layout for Scrapdango and I loved how it turned out. I cut the bird image from one of the Webster's Pages Papers that I received with my DT kit. I then stamped on it using my Hero Arts Script stamp (one of my all time fav stamps). I then inked and used Glimmer Mist on the Magestical Memories Frame that was also in the kit. I placed some cool, glittered sheer fabric under the frame and adhered it to my page. I then attached my bird to the frame. I added a gem to the bird for an eye. I then stamped on the flower, added a button and placed it on the frame as well. Viola... and embellishment cluster.
Challenge:
I would like to see you use an embellishment cluster on your next creation. It can be either a card or layout. Email it to me at thynner5@yahoo.ca to earn a ballot for this month's blog prize. I have a wonderful collection of Basic Grey Marakech goodies for one lucky winner!
Due Date: February 28th
Draw Date: March 1st

I've Been Tagged ~ Photo Challenge #4
I've been tagged for the first time by my friend Heather at Scrapdango. I am so excited because this is a fun one!
So what I am supposed to do is:
Go to your Picture Folder on your computer or wherever you store your pictures.
1. Pick the 6th Folder, then select the the 6th picture in that folder.
2. Post that picture on your blog and the story that goes along with the picture.
3. Tag 6 other people that you know or don’t know to do the same thing and leave a comment on their blog or an e-mail letting them know you chose them.
Now, I happen to have photos saved in various parts of my computer as well as my Portable Hard Drive. This tag just made me realize that I need to move my pictures off of my computer and transfer them to my Portable Hard Drive. Thanks Heather for the kick in the butt!!
So, here is the golden photo. It was in my Back to School folder and it of Paige. She was so upset because school was over and we had to leave to go home. She was so excited that she was in the same class as her best friend Lily and she just loved her first day!! I thin k she was a little overwhelmed and tired. I just love this picture.

Challenge #1 ~ Photo
It's time to get back on track and post a challenge to get you jump started. I hope you are all ready for another round of fun challenges!! I just love to post them all month long.
I have found that at least 98% of my layouts feature my children. They are just such beautiful girls and so easy to scrapbook. They are constantly giving me material to capture on paper.
SO... only 2% of my layouts feature something or someone else. How embarrassing. Really... truly...
I decided to scrap something other than my children. Here is a layout I did for the Scrapping Bug which features my beloved do Storm. He is such a loving and devoted dog. He is such a huge part of the Thynne family and I often neglect to include him on my layouts. Since he will be 13 years old on Paige's birthday this month I thought he deserved to be featured. He is getting old and has tumors growing on his body. He is still happy and generally healthy otherwise. He still plays and runs around. He can still make it up the stairs and gives lots of love. It is just hard to know that he will not be with us forever.
Email your creation to me at thynner5@yahoo.ca to earn a ballot for this month's blog prize draw. It will be another big and beautiful prize pack!!

Challenge #14 ~ Shaped Paper
On of my favorite trends the last year has been the use of shaped paper in scrapping. I am a huge fan and seem to buy all of it. My favorites right now are the shaped papers in Crate and Making Memories. There are so many ways to use shaped paper. You can cut it up and use it on your page or.... you can do what I did and use it as a base.
Here is a layout I did for Scrapdango using their Sugar kit for this month. I used the lovely shaped paper as my background and used it to celebrate my parents 40th anniversary. This paper line is fantastic to use with vintage pictures or photos that you transfer to either black and white or sepia.

December Winner!!!
Once again you have all blessed me with your creations and doing my challenges. I love that you are loving this as much as I do. I expected a big drop this past month with the holidays but.... you still created great pages, cards, and altered crafts!! Thanks again to everyone who participated!! You all ROCK!!

It was my dear Paige's turn to draw the inner. She has been suffering from an ear ache and this was such a great distraction for her!!
I wrote down almost 50 names on ballots and she cut them and placed them in her "Red Riding Hood Basket." ( Her name for it. Cute eh?)
She then asked me if her new Build a Bear, Stripes could help her chose the name. Here they are getting set up for the draw!
She let Stripes swirl the names in the basket.

Paige and Stripes pull out a ballot with the winner's name on it. Is it you????

Hmm... let's get a closer look.....

Yep.... the winner for the December Prize Pack is...................................
