Challenge #5 ~ Color Challenge

I whipped up some samples for a Basic Grey Origins Layout class that I will be teaching at Macpherson's Crafts in St Marys. I must say that the papers weren't something I thought I would buy for myself. I tend to lean towards bright colors with lots of bling and glitter potential.

(If you live near St Marys and would like to sign up for the class this coming Friday, send me an email for info.)

BUT.... I just fell in love with this line. It is so lovely and elegant. The colors are so serene together. It worked with a few pics that I have been wanting to scrap.

This BG Class Kit allows you to make a 2 page layout and 2 single pages. What a great addition to my scrapbook!

Here are my two favorites. The first features Paige and is the Bloom and Grow page:

Photobucket

The second features a picture of my friend Michelle and I on New Years Eve. We attended a wedding of our friends Leah and Mark. They looked amazing.... congrats again to them.

Challenge #4 ~ Bright and Bold

Most of you know that I love a good bright and bold layout. One of my favorite paper lines for this recently has been Basic Grey's Lime Rickey collection. I just had to buy it even though it seemed a little young for my kids. BUT.... when I finally sat down and opened it I was inspired by the bright colors to make a Back to School layout of Paige.

When Paige went into Grade One she was quite nervous, although she didn't let me know with words. Her body language said it all. When I dropped her off and watched her as she waited in line, she gave me the cutest little wave. The look on her face and the tentative wave spoke volumes to me.

She loves school and was full of wacky and wonderful stories when she came home. Every day after that she was always the first one awake and dressed in the morning!! She keeps bugging me even now about the first day of school.

I used a great sketch that was posted at Let's Capture These Memories sketch blog. Here is the layout I created:

BTW.... this layout was chosen to be a part of the Basic Grey Online Gallery. Coolio!!

I got a chance to work with My Little Bit of Whimsy at LCOM and I just loved this handmade button so much!! Check out Steph's amazing blog and store for more goodies!!

Challenge #6

I apologize for not getting this posted last night. My girls and I have all been suffering the last dew days with what Paige affectionately calls "The Curse of the Green Poo". Ah... children come up with the weirdest things!?

I have an easy one for you to do. Everyone loves a good scraplift challenge. At least I hope so. :)

The following layout is one I created for The Scrapping Bug using Basic Grey Mellow Line. I adore the colors so much. They happen to be the easiest papers I have ever worked with. Once again the darling subject is my sweet Paige.

My challenge is for you to create your own version of my layout. Find something in it to inspire you to make it your own. The beauty in scraplifting is that you can take one, two, three or more elements and incorporate it into your creation.

***All the challenges this week are due in my inbox( thynner5@yahoo.ca) or on the blog November 3rd!! I have extended the dates so everyone has more time to create and send their layouts or cards to me. I will announce the winner on the 4th. *** Remember you are playing for a RAK valued at over $50.00. All new CHA goodies.

I will be posting a bunch of mini challenges tonight. Keep an eye out for them.

Happy Scrapping!
